Who we are

Crosstalk Recovery, Inc. ("we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 87-4079663); our mailing address is 82 Nassau St PMB 68018, New York, NY 10038. This policy covers this website, crosstalkrecovery.org, and describes the privacy commitments of the Crosstalk peer support program we provide to the addiction recovery community.

What this website collects

Very little. This site is a set of static pages. It has no user accounts, no forms, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking cookies. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure processes standard technical information needed to serve pages (such as IP addresses and browser type) in its operational logs.

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you chose to send, delivered to our inbox. We use them to reply and to keep a record of our correspondence with you. The form is protected by a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge, which processes technical signals to tell people from bots. We do not add you to mailing lists you did not ask for, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.

Privacy in the Crosstalk program

The Crosstalk service is built around the privacy of its members, because in the recovery community privacy is not a preference, it is a condition of participating at all. The standing commitments of the program:

• Members go by the name or nickname they choose. Calls are bridged through the system, so a member's phone number is never shown to the people they talk with unless the member chooses to share it.
• Conversations are not recorded.
• Member information is not sold, to anyone, ever. There are no ads.
• A member's individual activity is not reported to treatment facilities or staff. If a member names a trusted contact, that contact receives only the participation updates the member chose, and the member can change or remove that choice at any time.
• Any member can block any other member instantly. Texting STOP ends all communication from the service, starting from the very first message.

When you become a member of the Crosstalk service, the service's own terms and privacy policy are presented to you at sign-up and govern your use of it.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to operate this website and the program, and they process information only on our behalf and under our instructions:

• Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and serves this website, provides network security, and provides the Turnstile challenge on our contact form.
• Resend, Inc. delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
• Crosstalk Connections, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Crosstalk Technologies, PBC, a public benefit corporation, operate and provide the technology for the Crosstalk calling platform through which the program's calls are delivered.

Children

This website and the Crosstalk service are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes to the program commitments above are the kind of thing we would rather over-communicate than slip past anyone.
